- When you work with the SiC data, please note that these are real measurements with discrete data points and variations due to noise. Simply trying to take the derivative might not give you a physically reasonable result. Instead think about procedures (interpolation, polynomial fit, ...) which would help you obtain a meaningful result. Discuss your approach, its limitations, etc.
- In question I2a) it should be 'Identify regions of negative epsilon_1 (!) ...'
- In problem I.2 (e) assume two semi-infinite half spaces and find the depth at which the wave is attenuated to half intensity including the single reflection at the boundary.
- To make problem I.3 more definete you can assume that each layer has a width of 158nm.
